Apoptosis and Necroptosis
Historically cell death was divided into two forms: the programed cell death, apoptosis, which was consider being not inflammatory, and non-regulated and accidental cell death, necrosis, which was consider to induce inflammation. Recently, a regulated cellular necrosis that allows release of cellular contents, to induce inflammation was identified and named, necroptosis. Here we study whether necroptosis is a physiological inducer of inflammation in either an immunology or pathological responses.
